The fact that all three of my 

children play with dramatically different styles, reflects the ability of their teacher, Kim, to recognize the unique interests and potential talents of each student, using that to their own advantage in sustaining a steady delight in learning and seeing/hearing their progress.....mission accomplished for a fine piano teacher.  In addition to the sheer joy of playing, two of my children flourished skillfully and artistically to a professional degree with one of them producing critically acclaimed recordings of his own self-performed compositions.   I am grateful for having found and taken advantage of a piano teacher that has impacted our family with musical pleasure.

Kim is a phenomenal teacher for every level of student. She is not only a gifted pianist, but her ability to communicate with her students while challenging even the exceptionally talented ones is something very special. She has a reciprocal approach in which her students feel seen, heard and valued, which opens up an ability to instruct at a much more impactful level than ‘top down’ instruction. We are so thankful to have found her!

We would like to thank Kim for her hard work and professionalism.  When we moved here from another country, my son had very poor English and by nature he is very shy.  But Kim had such a wonderful approach to teaching him.  She was always very kind and helped him overcome his fears and build his confidence.  We are very grateful to Kim for her patience, kindness and professionalism.

​My daughter has loved working with Kim for the past 5 years.  Kim has taught her a real love for the piano, and follows her passions.  She has helped her set, and reach, challenging goals. During her time with Kim, my daughter has progressed from quite simple to very complex music, and this has made it clear that Kim has the ability of working with all levels of players. Kim, where do I begin?  These past few years have been incredible   I never thought I'd be able to play or get to the point that I'm at.  And it's all thanks to you.  You  have been the most amazing teacher I could ever hope for.  You've taught me so much and I'm more grateful than you'll ever know.  You have also become a great friend of mine.  I really hope we don't lose contact   I'd love to hear your band play some time.  Thank you so much again for everything you have done for me.  I'll keep playing. Dear Mrs. Bowman,
Thank you for teaching me piano for the past 5-6 years.  You  have helped me grow so much as a pianist and a musician.  Thank you for the encouragement and preparing me for events out of my comfort zone such as adjudications and honors recitals.  My journey as a musician is far from over.  In some ways, I feel like it is beginning anew.....I do find myself sometimes missing piano lessons with you.  I hope everything is going well with the band and teaching, and that you're enjoying it all.  Thanks for everything!

Thank you, Kim.  I have greatly enjoyed being your student for all these years.  The piano has given me a new way to express myself, and it has heightened my appreciation for art in general.  When I started taking lessons from you, I never would have imagined where I would be now in terms of the piano.  I will keep you informed about my piano studies at Reed.
